The family expands and Liam has to learn to live with it

My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

I liked this, but I missed some of the humour that’s been part of the previous books as Liam wasn’t really as present in this one as it focused more on Bryn and Michael adopting a daughter.

There’s plenty going on in both men’s worlds, with Bryn in the playoffs and Mike and his friend Jamie about to break out and set up their own web design business.

On top of that, Liam’s got a new baby brother and the arrival of Bridgette turned him into an understandably grumpy puss as he tried to adapt to a new world where he wasn’t the centre of everyone’s attention.

Overall, though it just felt a bit more “educational” about aspects of being part of the LGBTQ+ community or the adoption process and less about the relationships at the heart of Liam’s family.

That said, it was still an enjoyable read, with most of the hallmarks of this series and the devotion between the two men being as strong as ever.

I didn’t realise it was the final book in the series, but Vicki leaves them in a really beautiful place and I can only see them growing stronger and stronger as the years go by.
