A Quick Catch Up With Rowe & Andrei

Chatting with Rowe & Andrei from Unbreakable Bonds

by Jocelynn Drake

Hello, everyone! Thanks so much for letting me stop by and share my love of the Unbreakable Bonds series.

The first book, Shiver, was released more than five years ago, and we’ve recently decided to recover the series to reflect the changing times and tastes of readers.

Over eight novels, four short story collections, and lots of random tales, Rinda Elliott and I have taken readers on a journey of explosions, danger, angst, and love with Lucas, Snow, Rowe, and Ian.

Today, I thought we’d have some characters answer a couple of reader questions.

Rowe is the owner of Ward Security and former military with an expertise in chaos. Noah is his lover and also former military.

For Rowe – Which is better C4 or Duct Tape?

Rowe: (claps his hands together and rubs them) Is this like a tasting? Do I get to test out some samples before making a decision?

Noah: (chuckling) Is there any duct tape or C4 that you haven’t tested out?

Rowe: Probably not, but you can’t blame a guy for trying.

Noah: I guess not. Though, I think there’s some scented duct tape we haven’t gotten our hands on yet.

Rowe: That sucks. But back to the question, I like both. Each has its uses. Blowing up a building? C4.

Noah: Restraining a bad guy? Duct tape.

Rowe: Restraining a friend? Duct tape.

Noah: Distracting a bad guy? C4.

Rowe: Distracting your neighbor when you’re trying to steal his ugly political signs from his front yard? C4.

Noah: Fixing a hole? Duct tape.

Rowe: Really? I would have said lube.

Noah: (snickering) Can’t take you anywhere.

Andrei is the COO of Ward Security, former bodyguard, and former MMA fighter. Lucas is his husband and former client.

For Andrei – How much wrangling do you have to do at work?

Andrei: (chuckling to himself) Well, every job has its good days and bad days.

Rowe: You’re not off to a good start.

Lucas: I’m sure you have nothing to do with there being bad days.

Rowe: Hey! I’m an excellent boss.

Lucas: And an excellent source of chaos and destruction.

Andrei: So, as you might have guessed, part of my job is a mediator between the swirling bouts of insanity. I’ve taken over a lot of the day-to-day operations from Rowe, such as hiring, organizing training, and managing a lot of the overall scheduling with Noah. Rowe is supposed to be focused on big-picture planning like navigating the overall direction of the company.

Rowe: Even though Andrei is the one with all the expansion ideas. I say he gets that from his husband, who has this need to take over the world.

Lucas: Whatever.

Rowe: You’re just short a white cat and an eyepatch, Dr. Evil.

Andrei: He is right, baby. You do want to take over the world. (Leaning in, he brushes a kiss along Lucas’s jaw.) But, generally, it’s not much different from most jobs, except the guns, fighting, explosives—

Rowe: And occasional slightly teeny tiny illegal stuff, but all in the name of protecting good people and stopping bad people.

Andrei: That’s why I’ve got the lawyers on speed dial.

I keep running out of ways to describe how brilliantly Roe Horvat writes his beautiful erotica

58258707._SY475_Innocent by Roe Horvat

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Roe Horvat does it again.

This book is full of incredibly written sex and is elevated beyond being porn without plot by both the simplicity of the story – two men falling in love – and the emotional connectivity between Navid and Zana.

We first met this pair in their grown-up son Caleb’s book Devoted when they are dealing with the fallout of him meeting and getting involved with an older alpha photographer Nathaniel.

My review of that one is here: https://mirrigold.com/2021/02/26/another-exceptional-entry-in-this-thoroughly-entertaining-omegaverse-series/

In Innocent, Roe takes us back to the brief peek we got into Navid and Zana’s first meetings and their wedding night. It’s a tale of breathtaking beauty and incandescent heat, a study in contrasts between the naivety of a young omega protected by his conservative alpha father and a man from the same culture who has lived and travelled abroad and widened his horizons.

I loved just how deeply Zana loved Navid. He fell from the moment he saw the shy 17-year-old and his passion never fades as we see the first hesitant steps after their marriage.

In Devoted both Navid and Zana come across just as conservative and hidebound as his family do in this book, so it’s interesting to see what they were like as much younger men.

The sex, as in any Roe book, is beyond filthy in all the best ways, filled with everything you’d expect in an mPreg Omegaverse world. There’s knotting, heat breeding, fisting – so avoid if you don’t like it, there’s plenty of in world rationale for why it happens – and dirty talk.

As my lovely friend Dani says: Don’t pick this up and then whinge about too much sex because this series from Roe is all about how the physical manifestation of love between two people can reach beyond just the act itself and into an emotional tie which binds throughout the hard times.

PS: This cover is beyond beautiful!

Another exceptional entry in this thoroughly entertaining omegaverse series

57071024._SY475_Devoted by Roe Horvat

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As with the others in this series, sex is a primary driver throughout the narrative and – with the same consummate skill he has with erotica – Roe weaves a clever and intricate plot around it.

Sex happens a lot, but each time it occurs, it offers up a new insight into the way Caleb and Nathaniel make their emotional bonds stronger.

This has some seriously filthy encounters and the dirty talk is off the charts rich with both lustful need and love.

Walter is here in all his gloriously sarcastic ways, but he also proves himself a true friend to Caleb when his parents are less than happy with his choice of Nate.

I can’t wait for the man who finally stops Walter in his tracks!
