Solid opener for Colette Davison’s new shifter omegaverse series
Secretly Mine by Colette Davison
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars
I enjoyed this solid opener in a new shifter omegaverse focusing on a musician and his bodyguard.
There wasn’t anything particularly new or novel to it, but I liked both Jessie and Isaac.
Their relationship development, while it was fairly quick, didn’t feel insta-lovey but more an organic growth from a mutual attraction and closed proximity.
I did very much appreciate the difference in shifter types though, Isaac was a tiger and Jessie was a monkey and they were incredibly sweet together, especially in shifted form.
I did guess the villain from the first time they appeared on screen (I read a lot of this type of suspense book and was a mad Agatha Christie fan in my younger days 😁 ) but I still think the stalker plot plays out well throughout.
Book two is also going to be about Jessie and Isaac and I’m interested to see how the author works the tension plot she’s hinted at with a sneak peek at the end of this one into the overall narrative.
I think it will be an unusual direction to take and I’m looking forward to reading it.
