My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I have two main things I have to say concerning this book. The first is that any romance which references my favourite scene from my favourite love story film starring my favourite actor is automatically a winner.
(This one in case you were wondering)
The second is that, the above notwithstanding, I almost chucked my Kindle at the wall because Janis. That plot was telegraphed from the off and it drives me utterly insane, it’s every cliche I despise in any genre and I find it a huge cop out as a tension generating plot.
So why the five stars overall? Micah of course. His character utterly made this book into something special. His simple joy at life, how he saw the world and how he experienced everything with such passion elevated the romance. And Zach was his perfect partner, fully complementing him in every way.
Plus sparrows, a British staple on most fences or hedgerows and a much underappreciated garden bird as Cock Robin found out in the classic English nursery rhyme 😉
Oh and the sex, the sex got this book a whole star just on its own. Micah is a virgin and the enthusiasm and pleasure with which he experiences the full range of sex is simply delightful.
