Blurb

Falling in love was the easy part. When we have to face more tragedy, will it bring us closer or drive us apart?

Now the tour is over, Isaac has to adapt to depending financially on someone else for the first time.

When my world gets thrown into turmoil again, I need to learn that relying emotionally on others isn’t a bad thing.

We have to face our biggest challenge together—creating a different dream from the one we had envisioned.

Openly Yours is an MM paranormal romance with a loving tiger shifter, a sweet monkey shifter, enthusiastic family members, and lots of cuddles. Whilst it is set in an alternate universe where omegas give birth, there are no pregnancy or birth scenes in this book. It immediate follows the events of book one.

Trigger warning for scenes revolving around infertility.

“You had news. Is it about the Arches?”

I grinned, unable to keep it from him.

“They accepted our offer?”

“Yes.”

Jesse bounced up and down in my arms, squealing excitedly. “That’s fantastic!”

“We’ve got to get all the building and land checks done and a survey, so it’s not a done deal yet. But all being well, our youth centre is one step closer to opening.”

Jesse grasped my face and kissed me hard. “It’s exciting, isn’t it?”

“Very.”

His eyes widened. “You should invite your dads to come and stay so we can show them the Arches.”

“I’d been thinking about that.” I carried him over to the sofa and sat down with him on my lap. “Maybe it’s about time we moved out of this flat.”

Jesse tilted his head to the side. “Why?”

“Well, right now, if we want to invite my family down, they have to stay in a hotel.” I paused, measuring my next words carefully. “And at some point, we’re going to have a family, Jesse. There’s not going to be room for children in a one-bedroom flat.” I stroked my thumbs over his lower back. “You wanted a house filled with music and the patter of tiny feet, remember?”

Jesse nodded, but he didn’t speak. His eyes were brimming with tears, and his chin wobbled.

“And I wanted a big bath.”

That made him laugh. “We need a huge bath.”

I stared into his dark eyes. “I want to find our forever home, Jesse. And I want to get married.”

Jesse frowned. “We can’t, not until—”

I silenced him with a kiss. “We know roughly when your heats will be. We can plan around it. We’re already mated. You know I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Now I want to show everyone else that—your family and mine.”

“And the world?” Jesse asked. “Because we’re not gonna get a cosy little wedding.”

I smiled. “The whole world. I’m yours, Jesse, now, always, and openly.”

Jesse gasped. “I’ve got it!”

“Got what?”

“The title of the song I’m going to write for you.”

I raised my eyebrows. “Will you share it with me?”

He smiled mischievously. “Nope. I think I’m gonna keep it a secret.”

I tickled him until I reduced him to a giggling, writhing wreck on my lap. Then I flipped him onto the sofa and lay over him, tickling him more until he was gasping for air.

“Now are you going to tell me?”

He put his hands around my neck as his breathing slowly returned to normal. “‘Openly Yours’.”

I nuzzled his nose with my own. “That’s beautiful.”

“So are you.”

We looked at each other, my heart filling as I saw how much love radiated from his eyes and smile. I kissed him, teasing his mouth with my tongue. “Let’s set a wedding date and start looking at houses.”

Jesse nodded. “Okay.”

Blurb

A rock star hiding a vicious crime.

A billionaire’s son fighting for his own identity.

Kemp Lansey and Charles Durant, once stepbrothers. One, now a famous singer. The other, a renowned photographer. Reunited after eight years, Kemp tells himself that it’s just sex—fierce, damned near bloodletting sex.

Sex and a mutual understanding.

Kemp doesn’t want Charles’ millions.

Charles doesn’t want Kemp’s fame and glory.

Kemp tells himself he can have their new relationship, as long as Charles never finds out Kemp is guarding someone else’s secrets—secrets that drove them apart all those years ago. Secrets that could tear apart the life of someone Kemp loves. Secrets that could end their relationship.

Kemp walked away once. He should walk away again.

All he has to do is hide the truth from Charles.

Because Charles can’t know. Can he?

Excerpt

Five minutes later Charles was dragging the curtains over stable’s windows. Kemp hit Silent on his phone.

He doubted they’d even hear Dylan and Ben arrive, not at the main house. Grabbing the stables had been genius, but right now, Kemp had more interesting things to think about, like the man standing across the room from him, slowly stripping free of his clothes. Kemp shut down his phone, leaned back against one scrubbed brick wall, and watched the show.

“Long evening,” he remarked.

Charles grinned. It was a rare sight, that open, wide grin, and Kemp drank it in even when he knew, awareness scratching like fiend at the back of his mind, that a discussion awaited them back in Sydney, one about his toxic fucking mother, money, and ownership.

But he hadn’t gotten this far, survived Maxine’s glory years and the Palm Beach years and that horror and every other fucking thing before fame and fortune came along, ready and ripe, without being able to compartmentalise, and he was compartmentalising right now like a goddamn Olympic champion.

“Endless,” Charles agreed, on a low husky breath. That grin again. “Especially when you began on the Janis Joplin best-of.”

“My interpretation of ‘Me and Bobby McGee’ was out of this world.”

“It was only bettered by your styling of ‘Son of a Preacher Man.’”

“What can I say?” Kemp strolled across the room, slid the last button on his shirt free, and dropped it to the floor. Charles’ gaze slid over his chest, down the sliver of dark hair that arrowed into his hip-hugging jeans. “Janis and Dusty got me through many a rough night.”

Which wasn’t far from the truth. A memory flashed: he and Viva in the pre-Durant days, huddled in the living room of the shitty flat Maxine was renting back then, Maxine out clubbing in the a.m. with fuck-who-knew, Dusty Springfield playing on YouTube while Viva told him how she was going to make incredible movies one day. And Kemp had listened and worked his way around the catalogues of all the great classic singers and spun his own dreams. Who the hell had Charles had to tell his dreams to? Share his heroes with? No family, no siblings, no friends he could trust. The loneliness of it cut Kemp up deep inside. It gutted him.

If he let himself think about it too deeply, he’d let himself realise that it always had.

Excerpt

River stared into the mirror, wondering who the stranger was looking back at him.

Who the fuck are you?

Everything about his appearance was completely wrong—from the hair to the eyes and lips, nothing seemed right. Reaching up, he took out the contacts, dropping them in the sink before turning on the water, watching as they disappeared down the drain.

Why the hell did I start wearing these? One word: Otávio.

It was Otávio who’d suggested that he should wear contacts. River wasn’t sure why the fuck he agreed to wear the damn things when he loved his light gray eyes. They weren’t unique, but they were his.

Lifting his head, he stared in the mirror, but he was still looking at a stranger. Reaching up, he snatched off the blond wig he was wearing, not caring about the pins holding it in place. He glared at the offending thing before throwing it to the floor.

The wig was another of Otávio’s suggestions.

He started removing the pins holding his long curly black hair in place, watching with fascination as the deep onyx waves cascaded over his right shoulder. He giggled like a kid, twirling his fingers in his hair. Growing up, kids used to ask him if he dyed his hair, but it was all natural—he attributed it to his Cape Verdean heritage.

River raised his gaze and expected to recognize the man in the mirror, but he still saw a stranger. Grabbing one of the hotel towels, he put it under the running water, soaking the material, and without hesitation, roughly scrubbed the makeup off his face.

He sighed when he saw the first patch of his soft ochre complexion come into view and froze when a flood of memories and hurtful emotions came back to him seeing the large bruise on his left cheek—the reason he agreed to wear the wigs, contacts, and makeup. He had to hide the abuse.

Good thing no one ever sees me without makeup.

River doubted anyone remembered what he looked like before he became rich and famous. His fear “was” of them finding out that the spoiled, cold, controlled, and calculating man they saw in the magazines was a fraud, but in truth “he’s” a fucking coward behind closed doors.

I haven’t been in control of my life for a very long time.
