Cinderella Proposal by Harley Grace

I absolutely adore this new series from Harley Grace.

This author duo has a real talent for writing romances which are thoroughly entertaining without being overly angsty or too full of manufactured drama.

They’ve offered up a take on the Cinderella fairy tale, as you’d expect from the title, which is both beautifully romantic and also a pretty believable tale of finding “the one” in the most unlikely of places.

The Bliss resort setting works so well for this series, and resort owner Adrien Blissard himself is the Fairy Godmother at the heart of each story.

Here he gets involved when one of his staff gets himself a fake boyfriend scheme proposal from a guest at a wedding where one of the grooms is his ex.

And I’d like to state for the record, that I hated Chet (the ex) within just two sentences 😁

As for David, I loved that he wasn’t a typical rich man, he’d worked himself from the ground up, and he never treated Fin like he was any less important.

In fact, I absolutely adored how much he treasured him, and the way he was vulnerable with Fin from the off to make sure he wasn’t being overwhelmed.

Fin is a total sweetheart, but not a one note character, he has an inner strength which he doesn’t realise until he’s given a solid footing by David.

Together, although this has such a short time frame, they just work as a pair and it never feels instalove-y.

There’s so many other characters that I want to know more about too, especially Mr Bliss himself, but also Trace the resort’s pilot, Chef Eli, now the surf instructor and Eric, the contractor whose firm built the island resort!

Book one was fab, book two was just as good, bring on Chef Eli in book three!
