A stunning return to the political romance world of Tal Bauer

Ascendent (Executive Power)Ascendent by Tal Bauer

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tal Bauer made me cry with this book. Sasha is absolutely one of my favourite characters ever and this book is his story.

It’s his journey from being a broken shell of a man who never expected to survive his heroic flight into the Arctic Circle during the Executive Office series, to being whole again.

It’s also not what I was expected when I started to read this book. It’s a deep spiritual journey too, exploring the culture and history of an element of the Russian people that I knew nothing about before reading Tal’s brilliant political romance series.

Sasha’s journey is heartbreaking and also healing, his soul is shredded before he undertakes a most incredible spiritual exploration of his fears and gains understanding.

This book was not what I expected, but it was so much more and I can’t wait to see where the series goes next.

Awesome introduction to this new series

Shiver (Unbreakable Bonds #1)Shiver by Jocelynn Drake and Rinda Elliott

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Epic, simply epic. I don’t think there was one part of this book I didn’t adore.

The setting, the hotter than a volcano attraction between Andrei and Lucas, the crime element, the best friends, the humour, the expectation and the explosive sex and eventual emotional romance between the MCs.

This is a fabulous introduction to the Unbreakable Bonds series and I’m so looking forward to reading the rest of the guys’ stories as they find their own HEA’s in a Cincinnati which is decidedly dangerous but incredibly exciting.

My favourite Jay Northcote story

The Law of AttractionThe Law of Attraction by Jay Northcote

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Not sure why I never reviewed this, unless it was while I was on holiday with no internet, but whatever, here it is.

This is my favourite Jay romance, probably because the characters are a little bit older than in his other books, although don’t get me wrong, I love all the others too!

But this one was just all ends up a sexy and emotional read with lovingly crafted characters, a setting which worked well with the story narrative and a perfect amount of smexy encounters.
