Lots going on in this third irresistible dragons entry from Nora

416X3B1UFwL._SY346_Dragon’s Fight by Nora Phoenix

My Rating: 4 out of 5

There’s a lot of plot leftovers from book two which get moved along in this entry from Nora and – you’ll all be pleased to read – the relationship cliffhanger she dropped at the end of Dragon’s Honor is also sorted out!

Jermon, Riordan and Wilmer are struggling to deal with the later’s amnesia, caused by the horrible injuries he suffered when the dragon slayers attached the settlement in the previous book.

There’s also something weird going on with their omega and with the Murphy’s hanging around and generally being utterly unhelpful and, in some cases, downright rude and threatening, things are a confusing mix for this throuple.

I thoroughly enjoyed this latest entry and it was at times painful, others joyous, to see how patient Jermon and Riordan were with Wilmer as he struggled to get any of his memories of the past two years back.

However, love will out, and as they spent more time together, Wilmer found himself drawn again to both of the men who’d told him they were all fated mates. I really liked how organically this felt as Nora brought the three of them back together again.

With all the other stuff going on in the background, the romance didn’t feel like it was neglected at all, it all blended perfectly into the plot and I was enthralled by everything that was going on.

My only reason for not giving this book five stars is that I would have liked more time with the three of them once they’d reconnected as a throuple but I’m very much looking forward to the next book in the series and seeing where the story goes next.

Scorching hot and super sweet omegaverse romance from Roe

63291771._SY475_Trouble by Roe Horvat

My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

Kirby’s book is here and it’s a surprisingly tender and sweet exploration of how someone can learn to value themselves as more than just an object for sex.

Of course, it’s Roe, so it’s insanely, off-the-charts hot with knotting, heat breeding, fisting, dirty talk and all the other associated delights of his omegaverse world.

When alpha bartender Hugh, who’s had a crush on Kirby for years, finds out there’s a chance to star with him in his next porn film – which will be focused on his heat – he decides he’d rather have this experience than none with the omega he’s sure is his mate.

Kirby’s also been crushing hard on Hugh but he’s hidden it well because, while he’s proud of his career in porn, he’s still got unresolved complicated feelings about his time on the streets when he did anything he could to stay alive.

Roe skillfully navigates through the complexities of the two men’s feelings, showing the reader how each looks out for the other, respects their opinions and does small acts of kindness, without either of them ever really taking a chance on discussing their situation.

The shooting of the porn film itself is both detailed and yet removed from the minutia and mechanical elements of filming sex with people watching.

It’s pretty clear from the off that feelings won’t be able to stay suppressed but I’ll leave it to you to find out just how Roe manages to turn this erotic event into a beautiful romance!

This book is smut on steroids with a romantic centre

62046354

Skydive by Roe Horvat

My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

I love Roe’s ability to mix the erotic with the poignant, the heat with the heart and oh boy does he do that in this one.

It’s an mPreg omegaverse world, I think it’s maybe connected loosely to his other omegaverse series because it mentions Dalton City, but it’s a complete standalone and reveals the interesting secret that dragon shifters exist!

As with Roe’s other omegaverse works, this book is smut on steroids, there’s knotting, heat breeding, fisting references, and dirty talk.

Here we also have the added bonus of a fated mates story. Ernest has been looking for his mate for years and, at the relatively old age of 35, is on the verge of giving up when he meets Lawrence.

What starts off as a single epic encounter at a New Year’s Eve party rapidly turns into a full on bonding experience which sees Lawrie having to come to terms not only with the existence of dragon shifters but his changing status as a Dragon’s Mate.

While I adored the relationship between Ernest and Lawrie, this one didn’t fully captivate me like Roe’s other omegaverse worlds have and I think that’s more because, for me, the dirty talk and smuttish behaviour from Lawrie seemed to develop instantly from nowhere, rather than him becoming more confident and relaxing into his relationship with Ernest.

It’s a minor point, it doesn’t spoil the narrative overall, which also has a nice secondary plot involving espionage and sabotage at the company Lawrie works for and where Ernest is a consultant, and I felt very satisfied with the romance at the heart of the story.

I’m intrigued by Lawrie’s boss Davidson and I’m really hoping he gets his own cinnamon bun character to pull him out of the cold and lonely life he’s stuck in.
