Success was lonely.

I would have killed for the ability to use a hookup app or go out to a bar and meet someone but my life wasn’t my own. I belonged to the fans and the media. I should have been on top of the world but I was suffocated by fame.

I’d almost resigned myself to virginity forever and the impossibility of finding a relationship, until I met the most beautiful man I’d ever laid eyes on and hope sparked again, but in a cruel twist of fate, he was the only person forbidden to me: My director.

Twenty years older, and seemingly interested too, now I had four months to work with him while trying to keep my hands to myself or one of us would lose our job.

The temptation was going to kill me.

Unwritten is a slow burn, May-December with low angst and a dog that’s in charge. This book can be read as a standalone.

Excerpt

“This is the most awkward situation I’ve ever found myself in and I’d like to safeword out. So I don’t know how this shit works. Pizzahut.”

Finley coughed and sprayed coffee all over himself and the floor.

“Are you saying Pizzahut is your safe word?” Mel said, still staring and blinking.

“I need to go clean myself up.” Finley shook his head. “We have eighteen minutes, Tobias. Please—I don’t even know—fix whatever this is.”

I rolled out of bed and did a few pushups.

“Are you not going to explain Pizzahut as your safeword? Because I think that needs explaining.”

Excerpt

“What’s taking so long?”

“Maybe if we’d been able to get out of the door on time we’d be ahead of schedule not behind like I wanted.”

“It’s not my fault Alfred had a difficult day.” I laid my head against the headrest and turned to stare at the crowd behind a set of barricades, a line of police between me and them. My breath caught in my chest.

“I think it is your fault.”

I pushed the crowd out of my mind trying to focus on what Finley was saying.

“Alfred is part of the family.”

“A part of the family who makes you late for all your call times,” Finley said exacerbated. We’d had this conversation so many times our parts were pre-written.

Alfred was in charge and neither he nor I was changing it.

“I had to say goodbye to him.”

“Did you?” He looked at me in the rearview mirror.

“And have him pout while I’m trying to work tomorrow? Do you want to deal with him all day?”

“I think we need to have an intervention with you and your dog.” Finley loved to rag me. He’d been my bodyguard since ‘the incident’ when the studio insisted that I have one. We’d become fast friends.

“Ha. Ha. Ha. Guess who’s going to be walking Alfred when my dog walker quits again?”

“I told you we will never go back to those dark two months.” He did the sign of the cross.
