A Dragon’s Fortune by Sam Burns & W.M. Fawkes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Oh, that was just so much fun.
This is part of a new multi author series which features a magic emporium which turns up just in time to answer a dire need.
Now, interestingly, the dire need here wasn’t the perilous type and it really tickled me.
Cillian and Finneas are two fab characters, they should, going on genetics and ancestry, be enemies.
Instead, each has harboured a crush on the other for months and they’re just ridiculously sweet together.
The suspense element of the narrative worked well, considering the restraints of length and setting.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Let Me Show You by Becca Seymour
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars
My first book from this author and lots of promise shown in a very solid romance with plenty of feels.
There’s a really quirky meet/cute in this which had me smiling and that just carried on throughout the book as Carter and Tanner fell in love.
There’s not much angst, my only criticism – and it’s a small one – is that the set-up for the “bad guy” was a tad abrupt. Especially considering, as I’d figured, he’s going to be one of the MCs in the second book in the series.
Him behaving like a jerk came out of left field, wasn’t really given a lot of focus in the narrative and then suddenly was resolved with an apology that also came out of nowhere. I think a little bit more time given to this element of the plot and I’d have been looking at another star on this rating.
Apart from that though, I liked the small town vibe, I liked the communication between Carter and Tanner, I liked the romance, the sex was a mix of on page and off, sometimes sweet, sometimes steamy.
There’s also a nice bunch of secondary characters and a cute baby and a dog so it ticks a lot of those boxes!
