Loads to recommend in this second act of The Elite from Ella and Brooke

Need for Speed AMAZONNeed for Speed by Ella FrankBrooke Blaine

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’ve decided to treat this series as if it was a play in three acts.

Book one set the scene and left the reader with a cliffhanger to draw us back.

Book two gives the payoff from that, and then goes into more depth as its relationship and plot lines develop.

Book three will bring the conclusion and, if it follows true to form with this pair, a satisfying ending with lots of feels and an explosion of sexual chemistry.

I love all the characters in this homage to Top Gun, the fighter pilot elite of the US Navy, with their banter and friendship.

The complex relationship between Panther and his father, the Navy’s previous top dog fighter pilot, and Solo’s incredible arrogance and sheer bravado.

I just wish it was all done in the one book.

Superb conclusion to this fantastic romantic suspense series

Zero Divergence CoverZero Divergence by Aimee Nicole Walker

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

An excellent conclusion to this wonderful series from Aimee.

Romantic suspense, cop/law enforcement/ex-military types are among my absolute favourite genre of book to read and this series has been on fire.

Each stands alone but with a nebulous connection running through them surrounding the suicide of Royce’s former partner.

I loved how not all the loise ends were neatly wrapped up, there’s still room to manoeuvre and I was very happy to hear there will be future appearances from Locke and Key in the spinoff series.

This one had exceptional pacing, building up the tension as the noose tightened around the prime suspect who the reader already knows is guilty.

I didn’t see the plot twist coming and it was very well played. I also never found events to be too coincidental or convenient for the plot journey, they were linked into believable scenarios.

I absolutely adore Sawyer and Royce, I can’t say which is my favourite but they work so beautifully together, not only as work partners but as romantic ones.

Their chemistry is off the charts, but their friendship and support of each other, after a shaky start, is what makes this narrative sing.

Aimee’s best books yet imho.

Rafe Varik

The troublemaker. The risk taker. The sexy club owner full of wicked promises.

Rafe has devoted his immortal existence to pleasure and causing mischief.

The only ones who can depend on him are his brothers. Of course, that’s very much a Varik thing.

But when the leader of the Arsenault clan specifically requests Rafe’s help in tracking down a killer, he can’t say no.

Sure, Rafe claims he’s doing it for his family. They’ve attracted too many enemies and could use a few allies.

That’s not the whole truth, though.

There’s something about Philippe Arsenault that draws Rafe in. He wants more of Philippe. The vampire leaves him longing for another second in his presence, another taste of his lips, another caress of those perfect fingers.

Yet when it’s all over, what will become of Philippe and Rafe? Because Philippe will always be an Arsenault, and Rafe will always be a Varik.

Saving Rafe is the second book in an MM paranormal romance series that has vampires, betrayal, annoying brothers, music, heartbreak, hope, sexy times, and a pair of star-crossed lovers.
