BLURB

Aaron is drowning. After coming out as gay, he lost his parents’ approval, his job, and his sense of identity. He feels like a freak who doesn’t fit in anywhere. His last hope was his brother Josh, but Josh can’t seem to forgive him for how Aaron treated him when they were teens. Not that Aaron can blame him, because he did treat Josh like crap.

All Aaron wants is for someone to accept him, guide him, because he doesn’t have a clue. When sexy jiu jitsu teacher Blake takes him in and starts mentoring him, Aaron has hope for the first time, even though he can’t understand what Blake sees in him.

Blake doesn’t do relationships. At all. He’s more than willing to help Aaron find solid ground under his feet, but that’s it. Until insecure, vulnerable, and surprisingly sexy Aaron gets under his skin, triggering all kinds of protective instincts that make Blake long for more. He wants to take care of Aaron, give him what he needs, but how can he convince Aaron of that?

When Josh’s friend-with-benefits Indy’s past finally catches up with him, it endangers them all—and leads to heartbreaking decisions for everyone involved.

No Fear is a steamy M/M romance that ends with a HFN for Aaron and Blake, but has a continuing storyline as well. It’s the third book in the No Shame Series, and is not a stand alone novel, so make sure to read the first book (No Filter) and the second book (No Limits) first. It contains hot sex, a little kink, more hot sex, very mild puppy play, and a beautiful friendship-with-benefits that transcends labels. Also: trigger warning for mentions of sexual abuse.

EXCERPT

“You can start with plain vanilla sex, work your way up to the kinky stuff,” Blake said with a laugh.

“You make it sound boring,” Aaron complained.

Blake sobered. “No, and I’m sorry for teasing you a bit. You set the pace, Aaron. If you’re not ready for sex, you wait. If you are, you find someone who will respect you enough to take it slow, okay?”

Aaron reached out for his hand and held it tight. “Will you do it?” he asked.

Blake’s heart jumped in his chest. Was Aaron asking what he thought he was? “What do you mean?” He needed to be certain.

“I want you to be my first.”

He looked so cute and pretty and sexy, still in that gorgeous top and the tight jeans. But his words were cute and pretty, too, like a schoolgirl on prom night. Blake needed to manage expectations. “Aaron, I don’t do relationships. I like you, I really do, but don’t read more into this. I don’t date or hold hands or do romantic dinners.”

“That’s okay. I don’t need that. What I need is a safe place to gain some experience. You said it yourself, I need someone who respects me enough to take it slow. I want my first time to be good. I trust you. Please, Blake?”

Blake couldn’t help himself. He pulled Aaron close and brought their mouths together. At first, Aaron kept his mouth closed. Blake increased the pressure, licked his lips and pushed with his tongue until Aaron let him in. He angled his head a bit more, dove in deep. Aaron’s movements were slow, insecure, but he wound his arms around Blake’s neck and held on.

His mouth was sweet, hot. Blake tasted the peppermint Aaron so often suckled on, those white-and-red-striped ones. He teased Aaron’s tongue with his, until it responded, until they were doing a slick dance of push and pull. He was a fast learner, copying Blake’s moves at first, then coming up with a few of his own.

He was everything Blake usually avoided. Inexperienced, vulnerable, insecure. Yet kissing him did something to Blake’s body that he didn’t recognize. It triggered a hunger in him, a fierce need to possess, to own.

His hands lowered till they reached Aaron’s ass. He put one hand on each butt cheek, pulled Aaron close to him and ground his hips into him. The kid was hard again, and he himself had barely been soft since they had gotten into the dressing room. What was Aaron doing to him?

He broke off the kiss, swore softly at the sight of Aaron’s dazed look, his swollen lips. Fuck, Blake didn’t want to stop, not even close. He kissed him once more, the gentlest of kisses. “Not here. Not now.”

Aaron blinked. “But you’ll do it?”

“Tomorrow. I want you to have time to think about this, sleep on it. If tomorrow in the cold light of day you decide this is what you want, I’m your man.”

When she was a little tot, Nora’s mom got a library subscription for her. That, as they say, was that, and a lifelong love for books was born. Nora never stopped reading and doesn’t exaggerate when she says she devours books, rather than plain reads them. She started writing stories as soon as she could hold a pen, and wrote her first full book as a teen (on a typewriter!). It took her waaaay too long to follow her dream to become a romance author.

Nora writes M/M romance, because hello, sexy boys, and likes her men flawed, strong, and a tad broken. She appreciates a little kink, but insists on a happy ever after.

Loved the ending of this one

Safe and Sound (Twist of Fate, #2)Safe and Sound by Lucy Lennox

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Well at about the 80% mark I was rolling my eyes a lot at the incredible dramatics but the ending with Ash’s fund raiser and the meeting with his donor’s father just made everything all right in my world again.

This is a dramatic book, as I’d expect with the focus of its very specific trigger warning, but it also felt a little overly dramatic at times. And I was massively pissed off at the lack of repercussions for Ash’s obnoxious ex.

Realistic perhaps but I’d have liked to have seen some tanking of his career after the big expose, especially as it wasn’t even because of the abuse that his threats to Ash ended.

But there was lots of good bits in this one too. Aiden was basically a completely different person than he was in book one, so that was one hell of a redemption as he was a bit of an ass in that one.

I really loved the relationship between Ash and Aiden though, it truly was supportive on both sides even though on paper Aiden had the stronger and safer position.

Another great addition to this series

Shattered (The Protectors, #11)Shattered by Sloane Kennedy

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book could have been a train wreck given the sensitivity of the subject and the age of one of the main characters but Sloane Kennedy answered all fears with an assured hand.

There was no magic dick cure for Caleb, it took time and patience and conversation and a creation of trust with Jase for the relationship to develop.

I’m not sure it needed the secondary dramatic plot with Jase’s sister if I’m being brutally honest, there was enough drama with Caleb’s situation.
But I guess it was needed to bring Dalton and Silver into the fold for their book later and I’m fascinated to find out more.

I also liked the realistic approach to Caleb’s cutting, the sensitive way it was dealt with and the acknowledgement that he wasn’t “cured” and that counselling would be a good idea.

There was also a satisfying end to the bad guy and the plot surrounding Caleb’s father and it was nice to see the discussions with Caleb and Eli.

Jase was perfect for Caleb and their slow build up of trust as they began to act on them meant the sex scenes were doubly invested with meaning and lots of emotions.

Another great Protectors book and another wonderful cover from Jay Aheer and Wander’s photography.

BLURB

There isn’t a monster D’Angelo Kumar can’t destroy or a crisis he can’t manage until he meets Angel Bai. The insane attraction he feels toward the sexy waiter is unwelcome because D’Angelo doesn’t have room in his life for relationships. A solitary path is the only option for a man like him, but fighting his growing feelings for Angel may be the first battle he can’t win.

Angel’s abilities extend beyond memorizing the menu at D’Angelo’s favorite Italian restaurant, but he knows better than to trust anyone with his secret. When a vision reveals that D’Angelo’s life is in danger, he will risk everything to save him. The only thing scarier than monsters and demons to Angel is never knowing D’Angelo’s touch.

To say the demon hunter is reluctant to form a partnership with the psychic is putting it mildly, but D’Angelo needs every advantage he can get when the world’s very existence is threatened. As darkness looms nearer, D’Angelo and Angel’s unexplainable connection grows stronger. For a chance at happiness, the two men will need to call upon unlikely allies for an epic showdown between good and evil.

Sexy, witty, and action-packed, Circle of Darkness is the first book in the Genesis Circle paranormal romance series by Nicholas Bella and Aimee Nicole Walker. This book contains sexually explicit material and is intended for adults 18 and older.

COD Teaser1

EXCERPT

I was walking towards my Jeep when I heard someone practically screaming my name. I turned to see the cute little waiter from Martinelli’s rushing up behind me. What in the hell did he want?

He stopped short in front of me, huffing and puffing. “Oh… Oh thank god… I caught you,” he panted. I was pretty curious as to what he wanted, it wasn’t like I owed the restaurant he worked at a tab. Although, I found myself eating at Martinelli’s quite often since he’d started working there. The food was damn good, but I did have to admit, I went on the days Ansell worked. Damn, he was cute as hell. But as much as I loved to gawk at him, he was holding me up from the serious shit.

“Umm, want to tell me what this is all about?” I asked. “I’m in a bit of a hurry.”

“That’s just it… I…” He paused and looked off to the side like he was hesitant to tell me something.

“Look, Ansell—”

“It’s Angel,” he snapped.

For the first time, I saw the fire blaze behind his beautiful brown eyes, which were a lovely feature from his Chinese-American heritage. He had many features that appealed to me that were flattering on him as well. But his eyes… those blew me away. And, well, his lips, too. I’d love to see them where they rightfully belonged—all over my body. I swore, the fantasies I’d had starring him left me with morning wood on several occasions and on the others… sticky sheets.

“I like Ansell more,” I said, purposely ignoring his attempt to correct me. “Look, I’m really in a hurry, so if this can wait…” I let my voice trail off so he would get the hint.

“You’re in danger,” he blurted out.

I cocked an eyebrow. “In danger from what? What the hell are you talking about, and how did you find me anyway?”

“What do you mean, ‘how’? You eat at Martinelli’s more than I do. Besides, you always pay with your company account,” Ansell said, pointing to the sign above our antique shop.

Well, okay, that made sense. “Fine. Now, about this so-called danger…”

“Look, you have to listen to me. I know what I’m about to tell you may sound far-fetched, but it’s all true.” He was looking up at me with eyes that were pleading for me to take him seriously, so I did.

“Tell me.”

About me? Hmmm, I’m just a person with a wild imagination and a love for words who was sitting around the house one day and said, “Why hasn’t anyone written a book like this before?”. As with every storyteller, I wanted to share mine with the world. I like my erotica dark, gritty, sexy… and even a little raunchy. I’m not afraid to go there and I hope you aren’t afraid to go there with me. When I’m not writing, I love watching movies and TV shows, clubbing, biking, and hanging out with family and friends. The elements are wild in this paranormal romance

Elemental Love (Warlocks, #1)Elemental Love by L.M. Somerton

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Lordy this book is bonkers but in a good way. As an introduction to the series it does a good job in laying down the groundwork to explain the paranormal elements and to fix the nature of the stories going forward.

I liked the idea of the elemental warlocks needing a channel to vent power through but I wasn’t quite as keen on the light shades of BDSM in the book, but only because I felt that Evrain was perhaps a bit young to be such a dominant.

He also goes from being a fairly normal 21-year-old cocky and sure of himself to some insanely arrogant and majorly assholish at times. So that didn’t really vibe right for me. There was also a feeling of a bit of dub-con (not sure if that was supposed to be intentional or not) which never sits right with me unless it’s made very clear it’s an agreed part of the Dom/sub relationship.

Dominic is an interesting character too, sexually submissive but not a walk over in his ‘normal’ life and the scene with the bed and the vines was extremely well written (although I note other reviews didn’t like it, I found it incredibly descriptive and erotic). But he’s also a bit “typical damsel needing rescue, deliberately for plot point but I hope it doesn’t continue.

The big villain was a bit cliched but the confrontation scene was good and I liked all the secondary characters.

Two lovers from rival packs. Have they come together only to be forced apart?

Alec Knight, a beta in the Regent’s Park pack, guards his heart carefully. Ghosts from his past keep him alone and angry, any hope of a relationship impossible while guilt from the pack wars still haunts him. With the anniversary drawing near, Alec needs a distraction.

As a lowly member of the Primrose Hill pack, Mark Appleton isn’t used to having his alpha’s attention. Lately he’s had more than his fair share, and not for the right reasons. Despite growing suspicions that all is not well, Mark tries hard to do better, but constant criticism leaves him desperate for a stress outlet.

Sex is a good way for shifters to let off steam, and while their packs attack each other with accusations and lies, Alec and Mark work out their frustrations in bed. Pillow talk and shared secrets lead to a closeness neither was expecting, but when pack relations reach an all-time low, any future for them seems out of the question.

If they want to be together, they’ll have to go against their alphas’ wishes—except Alec won’t and Mark can’t.
