The Unbreakable Bonds Series follows the close friendship of four men — Lucas, Snow, Rowe, and Ian — as their lives are forever changed when a dark shadow from their past resurfaces to extract revenge.

The quartet has been drawn together through a series of struggles, tragic events, and triumphs. They have learned to lean and depend on each other through the years for their survival.

But will their friendship survive the painful events that are set to unfold?

A Quick Catch Up With Rowe & Andrei

Chatting with Rowe & Andrei from Unbreakable Bonds

by Jocelynn Drake

Hello, everyone! Thanks so much for letting me stop by and share my love of the Unbreakable Bonds series.

The first book, Shiver, was released more than five years ago, and we’ve recently decided to recover the series to reflect the changing times and tastes of readers.

Over eight novels, four short story collections, and lots of random tales, Rinda Elliott and I have taken readers on a journey of explosions, danger, angst, and love with Lucas, Snow, Rowe, and Ian.

Today, I thought we’d have some characters answer a couple of reader questions.

Rowe is the owner of Ward Security and former military with an expertise in chaos. Noah is his lover and also former military.

For Rowe – Which is better C4 or Duct Tape?

Rowe: (claps his hands together and rubs them) Is this like a tasting? Do I get to test out some samples before making a decision?

Noah: (chuckling) Is there any duct tape or C4 that you haven’t tested out?

Rowe: Probably not, but you can’t blame a guy for trying.

Noah: I guess not. Though, I think there’s some scented duct tape we haven’t gotten our hands on yet.

Rowe: That sucks. But back to the question, I like both. Each has its uses. Blowing up a building? C4.

Noah: Restraining a bad guy? Duct tape.

Rowe: Restraining a friend? Duct tape.

Noah: Distracting a bad guy? C4.

Rowe: Distracting your neighbor when you’re trying to steal his ugly political signs from his front yard? C4.

Noah: Fixing a hole? Duct tape.

Rowe: Really? I would have said lube.

Noah: (snickering) Can’t take you anywhere.

Andrei is the COO of Ward Security, former bodyguard, and former MMA fighter. Lucas is his husband and former client.

For Andrei – How much wrangling do you have to do at work?

Andrei: (chuckling to himself) Well, every job has its good days and bad days.

Rowe: You’re not off to a good start.

Lucas: I’m sure you have nothing to do with there being bad days.

Rowe: Hey! I’m an excellent boss.

Lucas: And an excellent source of chaos and destruction.

Andrei: So, as you might have guessed, part of my job is a mediator between the swirling bouts of insanity. I’ve taken over a lot of the day-to-day operations from Rowe, such as hiring, organizing training, and managing a lot of the overall scheduling with Noah. Rowe is supposed to be focused on big-picture planning like navigating the overall direction of the company.

Rowe: Even though Andrei is the one with all the expansion ideas. I say he gets that from his husband, who has this need to take over the world.

Lucas: Whatever.

Rowe: You’re just short a white cat and an eyepatch, Dr. Evil.

Andrei: He is right, baby. You do want to take over the world. (Leaning in, he brushes a kiss along Lucas’s jaw.) But, generally, it’s not much different from most jobs, except the guns, fighting, explosives—

Rowe: And occasional slightly teeny tiny illegal stuff, but all in the name of protecting good people and stopping bad people.

Andrei: That’s why I’ve got the lawyers on speed dial.

It was Inevitable I would fall in love with this book

inevitable coverInevitable by Briar Prescott

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Do you know what was Inevitable about this book? That Briar Prescott would write a beautiful and unconventional love story that takes hold of your heart and won’t let go.

The navigation of a relationship with just two people is complicated enough, but throw in a third, add in one of the MCs being Ace and two of them being best friends who’ve been in love without ever acknowledging it for half their lives and you could have had a right mess.

Instead, what Briar gives the reader is an organically developed and cleverly paced narrative that takes them on a journey alongside Bas, Drew and Ezra as what they each bring to the other proves to be the catalyst for taking chances.

There is some angst, it would be unbelievable if there weren’t doubts, fears and occasional stumbles, but a lot of the tension is caused by events outside of their relationship.

***SPOILER***

Drew’s parents and sister are insert swear words of choice here and my heart broke for him when he came to the realisation that he’d never meet their unobtainable standards while remaining his true self. I despise people that cannot accept their children for who they are when it comes to their sexuality and identity.

***ENDS***

But, for me, everything about the way they came together just made sense, they fit and Ezra acted as the glue between Bas and Drew which let them finally let loose on their love.

It’s not particularly steamy, there is a wonderfully hot hook-up when Drew meets Ezra for the first time (he and Bas are not a couple, no cheating here just saying!) and there is one scene between the three of them after they’ve committed to being a throuple.

Both are emotionally connected and integral to the plot, not thrown in just to meet a quota, and they resonate with feelings. The Epilogue is just gorgeous and made me very happy.

READ MY REVIEW

inevitable cover

Blurb

The three of us were never impossible. We were always inevitable.

When Drew meets Ezra, he doesn’t expect much. A one-night stand and a quick goodbye in the morning. That’s how these things usually go. Only there’s nothing usual about Ezra and the connection that forms between them.

When Ezra meets Drew, he doesn’t expect much. A distraction and parting as strangers after a night of meaningless fun. That’s how these things usually go. Only there’s nothing meaningless about Drew and the relentless spark between them that just refuses to disappear.

When Bas meets Ezra… things get complicated. As if being hopelessly in love with his best friend isn’t painful enough. Throw in an unexpected friendship that develops with the one-time hookup of said best friend, and the results are messy at best.

But sometimes beautiful things emerge from messy and complicated beginnings, and where two isn’t enough, three might be just perfect.

Teaser

“Wow. Hot.” Bas tilted his head up and murmured the words into Drew’s ear. And just because he was Bas, he also took his sweet time giving Ezra a slow once over.

“That’s him,” Drew said.

Bas’s brows shot up as he concentrated his attention back on Drew. “Ezra?”

Another spike of lust shot through Drew’s body at the way Bas’s tongue curled around the name, managing to make the word sound like a dirty promise.

“Yeah.”

“Go talk to him.”

Drew pulled away to stare at Bas. “What?”

Bas peered over Drew’s shoulder at Ezra. “And better hurry. It doesn’t look like he’s planning to stick around.”

Drew whirled back toward Ezra, and as if on que, saw the back of Ezra’s head as the man made his way toward the exit through the crowd.

“Go.” Bas was laughing as he gave Drew a push.

About The Author

briar-prescott

Briar Prescott is a work in progress. She swears too much, doesn’t eat enough leafy greens and binge watches too much television. It’s okay, though. One of these days she’ll get a hang of that adulting thing.

Probably.

Maybe.

She hopes.
