No names, no details, no complications.

Michael Pietersen isn’t up for complications. He’s one of Sydney’s fastest-moving career-focused corporate realtors, and the only thing he has time for is one-night stands with zero fuss.

Bryson Schroeder’s back home from two years overseas with plans to leave his family’s hotel empire and begin his own business ventures. Out with his friends to celebrate his return, he sees a gorgeous blond man across the bar, and with barely a smile and a raised eyebrow, they leave together for a night of incredible chemistry.

But the rules are clear: no names, no details, no complications.

But one night becomes one more night, and eventually the arrangement suits them both for weeks . . . until their professional and personal worlds collide. With their hearts already on the line, Michael and Bry need to decide just how complicated they want to get.

About The Author

N.R. Walker is an Australian author, who loves her genre of gay romance. She loves writing and spends far too much time doing it, but wouldn’t have it any other way.

She is many things: a mother, a wife, a sister, a writer. She has pretty, pretty boys who live in her head, who don’t let her sleep at night unless she gives them life with words.

She likes it when they do dirty, dirty things… but likes it even more when they fall in love.

She used to think having people in her head talking to her was weird, until one day she happened across other writers who told her it was normal.

She’s been writing ever since…

This would make a brilliant romcom

Bossy CoverBossy by N.R. Walker

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an absolute classic N.R. contemporary romance, filled with humour and heat.

I loved the Fourth Wall introduction to the book which we hear from Michael, the Mr Bossy of the title.

It acts as a sort of Prologue, it’s a bit like the equivalent of a narrator’s voiceover giving the reader the pertinent facts before the story begins.

I’m sure some people won’t be keen but, for me, bracketing the main elements with Michael’s words direct to the reader really worked.

It set the scene for what turns into an absolute belter of a contemporary romcom which would make a brilliant film.

From the moment our two guys meet, it’s clear the “casual sex once a week” arrangement isn’t going to happen.

They just click. The sex is on fire, definitely one of Nic’s hottest books, but it’s also surprisingly emotional from the off too. They connect in mind and spirit as well as physically.

With a bunch of interesting tension points coming from external sources, it makes the romance the prime focus without any overly dramatic plot points chucked in.

I would have liked to see another scene with them and Michael’s family, the brief one we get is hilarious, and my only other comment would be that I felt both read slightly older than their ages (26 for Bryson, two years older for Michael).

But that’s not to say it spoiled anything because it didn’t. I liked their maturity, and it didn’t feel out of character.

With a smashing group of friends and a very solidly Aussie setting, this one was a delight.

Dallas is pure love in a character

CoverPieces of Me by N.R. Walker

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There is such a feeling of love in this series it’s like being wrapped up in the softest blanket with a mug of steaming tea and a right pile of biscuits to munch on.

It just makes me feel happy, comforted and so in love with both Dallas and Justin as they try to find their new normal after the accident which has taken five years of memories away from Jussie.

The depth of love Dallas has is infinite and seeing him just be there for his partner is everything you’d ever hope for yourself in similar situations.

There’s not really a ‘plot’ as such, it’s more of a meandering along with them and their friends as they move on with their lives.

If you could wrap that feeling of quiet joy from the unconditional love that Dallas demonstrates, you’d make a fortune and the world would be a better place.
