I don’t do lovey dovey. Watching my four best friends trip and fall into their forever person has been both comical and confusing. When a hurricane hits Coral Pointe Inlet, it throws me into a tailspin I didn’t see coming—with a man who lives to drive me crazy. Jared, the sexy—I mean, the snarky fisherman, has been the bane of my existence for the last three years. How I find myself by his side during a difficult situation is beyond me. Realizing I may actually want to be that person for him makes me question a choice I made a long time ago. Which doesn’t make any sense because my decisions are never wrong…right?
I’ve lived a simple life in Coral Pointe since the day I was born. All I need is my bait shop, my boat, my dog, Brutus, and the home I’ve lived in for the past several years with the only family I have who matters. Unexpectedly, life has thrown a stone into my calm waters. Somehow, I find myself leaning on Burke, the sexy, stubborn chef of Oceanside Bar and Grill. I’ve made it my mission to bait that man every chance I get. The question is, now that I’ve got him on the hook, do I toss him back into murky waters, or is he finally ready to admit he’s been caught?
Baiting Burke is the fifth book in the Shore Thing series. It can be read as a standalone, but if you’d like to truly dive into the shenanigans between these five best friends and love being immersed in a fun, quirky small town, it’s suggested the books be read in order.

NOTE: This conversation takes place between Burke and his sous chef, Megan…after the hurricane.
“Megan, where the hell is the ribeye for table seven?” The kitchen staff grew insanely quiet as Megan’s hard gaze pinned mine.
“Burke, a word?” she calmly said, though anyone could hear the venom lining her words.
Instead of answering, I stomped back to the small office like the petulant child I was, closing us both in. “Make it quick. We’re busy as hell out there.”
Megan didn’t say a thing. She didn’t need to as she stood there with her arms crossed over her chest, her mouth pursed, and a pissed-off glare in her eyes. Damn, she was good at saying everything by saying nothing at all.
“Stop staring at me like that,” I snapped. Her only response was arching one perfectly shaped, chestnut eyebrow. “If you’re not gonna say anything, we need to get back out there.” The woman still didn’t utter a single word. The only other person who could make me squirm with unease from one look was my mom. I exhaled and sat on the edge of my desk, scrubbing a hand over my scruffy chin. “F*ck. I’m sorry.”
“Sorry for what, Burke? For being a pain in my a** the last two days? For snapping at your incredibly patient staff? Or for not telling me what happened with you and Jared during the storm? Because, in case you’re wondering, you’re being an a**hole and have been ever since that night. And if you think you’re being slick by denying something happened with you and that sexy-as-hell fisherman, your ridiculous behavior is screaming, I kissed a boy and I liked it!” She waved her hands emphatically in the air.
“What the hell are you talking about? I’m gay. All I do is kiss boys.” I cleared my throat. “Men. I kiss men. And I have no trouble finding willing participants. I don’t need the sexy-as-hell—” Fck.* “I don’t need Jared.” Because that statement didn’t add to the sexually frustrated, grumpy, teenage persona I’d adopted since leaving Jared f*cking Boone’s house a couple of days ago.
About The Author
I have been an artist from a very young age. From drawing cartoon characters and evolving into portraits, making jewelry, photography, and now writing. I have an amazing support system in my family and friends and couldn’t be more grateful.#
I live in central New Jersey, love summers at the Jersey Shore, rock music, wine, sexy men, and laughing a lot with my amazing friends and family. Sunday dinners at my parents’ house are crazy, hysterical and you can count on a movie quote…or ten…being thrown out. Insults between siblings is how we show our love for each other!
When I’m not creating, you can find me reading books from my favorite authors. I’m a hopeless romantic, starving for passionate characters and always craving that happy ending, whether in reading or in writing my own books.
