Paul and Tiavano are back with a bang!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Robert Winter’s Vampire Claus is one of my favourite festive reads so I was delighted to hear he was returning to the series with a follow-up.

Fangsgiving has all the same elements which made the first one such a success for me, a complex vampire, a cute as a button human and a romance for the ages.

Here we discover Paul and Taviano are still as solid as they were at the end of the previous book but Taviano’s demon is still refusing to turn Paul and make him into a vampire. As the book progresses, strange things start occurring, leading to a confrontation with Taviano’s maker.

As Paul and his immediate family get embroiled in a centuries old vampire’s quest to rule over all, things get serious and decisions are made which will have major repercussions going forward.

I thoroughly enjoyed this second installment, even if it has a bit of an open ending as book three is on the way. Paul and Taviano are still madly in love and I enjoy the spark which crackles between them. We also got to meet two new vampires who look like they will be allies going forward and Malik was a super sweetie.

There’s the same level of dramatic action going on here as with the first one and the Boston setting is as strong as ever.

I’m eagerly waiting for book three now because I’m desperate to know what Paul’s new discovery means for him and Taviano, and the rest of the vampires, going forward.
