Another delicious addition to Cara’s The Game series
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Well that was just a whole ball of deliciousness wrapped up in a steamy and sensual package.
Colt, Lucas and Kit are definitely right up at the top of my list as a favourite bunch of characters in Cara’s world and here they’re front and centre as Kit begins to grow in his confidence, secure within his relationship with his Daddies.
We’re in Colt’s head for this and let me say, the Air Force pilot just ticks all my boxes with his streak of sadistic possessiveness, coupled with deep caring and a desire to be the best he can for both his men.
His insecurities about whether Kit, who is so much younger than both him and Luke, would want to play with new Tops or Daddies is explored and handled so well by Cara, who really does know how to write kink with such a gentle, skillful hand.
Her books are always smoking hot, but they never titillate simply for the sake of it, there’s always a deeply rooted need behind all her men’s kinks and expressions of emotion.
This is a festive release, so there’s a wonderful Secret Santa which actually turns out to be one of the sweetest things this series has seen, as the Brats surprise their Tops with some truly thoughtful and unexpected gifts. The Tops, of course, go all out kinktastic with their presents and there’s some wonderfully squirmy moments throughout this part of the book.
Before we got to that bit though, Cara throws out the emotions as Colt has a heart to heart with Greer about his fears that the closed throuple dynamic is changing, he doesn’t want to clip his Little’s wings, but he knows he wants to give Kit the freedom to soar.
And ooooh boy does he do just that, although within very specific parameters because Kit also doesn’t want to risk the happiness he’s found with his two Daddies.
I very much loved how Cara let the situation unfold, it felt completely natural and organic, a heady mix of exploration within controlled rules, giving Kit the chance to take kinky baby steps with people who he knows, trusts and, in a different way to his Daddies, already loves and feels safe with.
It’s one of my favourites in the series and the big jaw dropper at the end just has me dying for the next book!
