This a cute read for the spooky season and, for the most part, I liked it with just a few niggles, none of which were anywhere near annoying enough to stop me reading.

The premise is an intriguing one and, for the main, that was something I very much enjoyed. A couple of my niggles came from part of the narrative which relates to the antique shop…

mostly how a valid will was able to be repeatedly challenged given the length of time Tally was with Carmichael and how the “villain of the piece” was able to get away with their behaviour and not be banned from future auctions.

but the ghostly elements were right up my alley.

Tally himself I found to be an odd mix and at times I loved him, others I found him a little frustrating but that’s a me thing not that the storyline itself didn’t justify those choices.

Eason as well I fluctuated between liking and finding him a bit over the top. The inner voice conversations Eason had with himself however really made me chuckle and it added a nice sense of him not taking himself too seriously.

When it came to the dramatic moment though, I have to say that was really my biggest niggle and stumbling block. It really doesn’t feel justified for something so serious to happen based on what’s gone on before.

That was my only real concern in what’s otherwise a super sweet, moderately sexy romance, which has a nice warmth to it that sits nicely alongside the more seasonal spook.
