So much joy amid the murder as Sawyer & Royce say I Do!

Well that was perfect, I lost count of how many times I got teary at the beginning as Royce and Sawyer go through the preparations for their wedding day.

We also get the main event too and it’s beautifully described in strongly visual language that I could almost believe I was there, sat in the Hummingbird Café, listening to the smatterings of conversation, enjoying the scent of the flowers and the delicious food.

The action happens when the guys land on the wee island they’re honeymooning on and I really liked the murder mystery they find themselves embroiled in. It was different to the other cases we’ve watched them investigate as they’re mostly side-lined and obviously not officially on duty.

Frank, their neighbour who Sawyer has known for years, is such a character too, I love these grumpy old men who are irascible and set in their ways but also really kind hearted under the surface.

The murder itself also had an interesting twist I hadn’t expected and I liked how it all played out. This time no-one’s specifically after our guys, which makes the tension a little easier to handle!

I really hope this isn’t the end of Locke & Key. I know Aimee has said she’d like to return back to them and I’m crossing everything that she does but I am seriously stoked for getting both Topher/Julian and the Chief’s romances later on this year!
