I wish there’d been more on-page relationship exploration
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars
Like with both previous books in the series, the promise of the blurb wasn’t actually present enough in the narrative for me.
There’s quite a bit of “reflection” and flashbacks which give us what happened between Henry and Adam from Henry’s POV and, as with the other two books, I really felt like not seeing into the mind of the other character meant I felt I was missing a lot.
But, having said that, the relationship between Henry and Adam is actually super sweet, I can’t say I felt this one was particularly erotic or overly steamy, there’s still a fair bit of “off page” references at times.
There’s also a bit too much going over with the men of the first two books, Jensen, Liam and Noah are as much a part of this story as Adam and Henry are, not as much with Kamal and Owen but there’s still a bit of a “catch up” there too.
Overall I’ve liked this series, but I haven’t been as wowed by them as I thought I would given the subject matter. I love pony play kink but this one all just fell a little bit tame for me.
