A definite favourite from Ella and I’m desperate for book two now
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is definitely one of my favourite books from Ella, but I was left frustrated by the ending even though I knew it was coming!
I just wanted to read more! More of oh so confident Gabe and more of utterly confused Marcus.
I use the word confused for Marcus because I love how he’s been absolutely blindsided by the much younger man.
Gabe is a joy, he’s not looking for anything other than a chance to put his life back on track when we meet him.
His friendship with Ryan (Alexander Thorne’s PA from the Prime Time series) is the most solid thing he has.
Marcus is a workaholic, devoted to his news station and with no life outside of his occasional visits to the symphony
Both men aren’t really aware of how they’re missing something until their first explosive meeting.
Ella is so good at writing those first moments, the initial glance, the shocking electric current which flashes between them when their eyes meet, the heat of an instant attraction.
They’re explosive together and the scene in the dark and deserted newsroom is one of her hottest yet 😛🥵💥
Everything seems like it’s going to be a perfect one-off encounter…
If only Gabe hadn’t told a little white lie.
What follows next is a delightful mix of humour, steaming chemistry, emotional tension and an unexpected connection which rocks them both.
I could have chucked my Kindle at the wall when I ran out of book because I want it ALL now, but at least it’s only a couple of months until the second half of the duet is out!
