Ridiculously hot and also still really sweet and uplifting.
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is Pax’s brother Theo’s story and it was interesting to see the progression from him realising he wasn’t actually in love with Elijah to being totally aware of his feelings for actual genius Alex.
I loved Alex, he’s never had the chance to be a normal child or experience anything fun just for the sake of it.
He’s a literal genius, at college studying for a PhD even though he’s not yet 20, and he’s following a path he isn’t really sure he wants.
Sex is his distraction tool, and he uses his nerdy persona to the max to get some semblance of normality.
That is, until Theo starts to offer him not only his friendship, but also insights into what it would be like to live a ‘normal’ life doing something he truly loves.
This book has one of the most intense sex scenes I’ve read, which I won’t spoil, but it was perfectly written to skilfully skirt the line between the insane hotness and the element of potentially stepping over a line (don’t worry it’s not a taboo or extreme kink).
I loved it!
