A wonderful Christmas romance that looks at reconnecting and renewing
The Christmas Oaks by V.L. Locey
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars
For Christmas VL Locey gives the reader a wonderful romance with an edge to it and focuses the story on reconnecting and renewing life.
It’s a lovely mix of serious and sweet as Bryan returns home to the sleepy town he left 15 years earlier and faces memories if a grandfather who’d rejected him when he came out.
I loved the connection between Bryan and Parson, one of the few kids who had supported him and stood by him at school.
It’s not quite a gay for you but there are elements of that within the narrative and I think it’s handled well. As is Parson’s PTSD and Bryan’s client’s addiction issues.
This festive romance gives the reader a bit more to think about than just glitter and presents and it has a wonderful Epilogue.
