A bit frustrating but a cute dog helped with the enjoyment overall
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This book frustrated me at times because nothing seemed to be happening for ages. I felt like I’d been reading it for days but I was only at 40%.
There was also one particular incident where I felt the reaction of one of the Mcs was completely out of proportion to the situation but, it fit within the narrative so it wasn’t wholly out of character.
Having said both of the above comments, they were my only real niggles about what is, in the main, a sweet festive romance which is filled with interesting characters and a nicely done plot surrounding a veterinarian and a homeless man who is struggling to regain his footing.
There are some good secondary characters, and I definitely felt a strong sense of place about the setting and the community in which the story takes place.
This was my first book by this author and I will definitely read more from them as overall I enjoyed this romance.
