A second-chance festive romance with a lot of warmth
Santa’s Last Gift by Sandine Tomas
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars
This is a sweet second chance festive romance with a lovely feeling of warmth to it.
It’s a Dreamspinner Press release so don’t expect too much steam.
Instead there’s a slow burn, family oriented relationship which picks up ten years after teenage fumblings were cut short.
I will just say though that having one of the character’s nicknames be Baz really set my teeth on edge as I dislike that name.
But I just called him Seb in my head and all was well 😂
There is the usual moment of drama around the 75/80% mark which felt somewhat constructed for the tension point.
However, in the overall scheme of things, it fit within the narrative so I just ran with it.
The kids in the book never overtook things, and I loved that there were great female characters across the board.
Add in a really visual setting for the small town where Matty and Seb’s journey back to each other begins, and I was overall pretty happy.
