Sweet romance with a lot of heart
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars
This was a sweet romance, as I’d expect for a Dreamspinner Press publication, with very little angst and a lot of heart.
But, nothing much happens until, all of a sudden, there’s a massive big dramatic moment which, okay was completely believable given the circumstances, but just felt a tad out of place.
The pacing is very slow, it’s definitely not a traditional best friend’s older brother type romance with lots of angsting and pining.
Instead, Tyler’s about face over whether he wants to date a man and his revelation that he’s always been attracted to them, seemed a little sudden and unearned.
However, I loved Juniper, Tyler’s six-year-old daughter, I loved the secondary cast of characters and I loved Max, so overall this was a good read but not an out of the ordinary one.
