A really satisfying second chance romance from Amy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I really enjoyed book one in this series, but Dan and Ash’s story absolutely captured my heart.
One of my favourite tropes is the second chance romance and here Amy gave us one where there was never any doubt about just how much these two had loved each other when they were younger.
Without going too deep into spoiler territory, I wanted to punch people a lot while reading this book and any narrative which stirs that kind of emotion in me is a winner. My heart broke for what Dan went through, he hurt possibly even more than Ash did because he had a further betrayal to compound him turning his back on the love of his life.
When they began to make their way through friendship and into love again I was so happy. Then I wanted to punch Ash at the same time as giving him a massive hug because I could totally understand his behaviour while I wanted him to acknowledge that Dan wasn’t the person he’d thought he was.
All ends up though this was a very satisfying read! Now I’m wondering about Alex and Ash’s teammate Kinsey 😉
