The stakes are raised for Dillon and Lang in this Sci-Fi romance

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m not sure if this will be the last time we hear from Dillon and Lang but I really hope not because I absolutely love this series from Kelly.

This one had quite a different feel to book one though, with a sense of foreboding beginning fairly early on and just amping up the layers as Dillon’s half alien nature starts to manifest in strange ways.

I loved how Lang reacted in this narrative, he’s protective, he fights against his own inbuilt sense of clan and duty and he’s willing to sacrifice all for his love of Dillon.

There are new characters in play here, old friends as well, and I loved the pacing and the contrast between the lighter, funny moments with Dillon’s mum and gran, and the crushing despair as their whole future looked at risk at times.

Surprising allies and the power of human emotions combine into a finale worthy of the name and an epilogue which is all ends up adorable.

If this is the last book, then Dillon and Lang are left very much in their happy place and so was I when I finished the book.
