Didn’t quite work for me unfortunately

Kiss Me, Daddy (Club 83, #1)Kiss Me, Daddy by Quinn Ward

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I’m not sure what happened here. I’ve enjoyed each of the books in the series which this one spins off from but something about this just didn’t really work for me.

I think part of it was that it was way too much insta love but also not enough went into the kink side for me to really feel the Daddy/boy dynamic.

I liked both characters individually but each time they slipped into the kink, I really didn’t feel the connection at all. A lot of the time it just seemed like a whole load of dirty talking and then the narrative would jump to some time after the event.

Unusually for this author, I felt a lot was being told about what was going on rather than me being shown through their actions and dialogue.

On a positive note, I liked the family set up, I liked that there was no drama with the ex-wife and their 10-year-old and Andy’s supporting siblings.

And if the set up for book two concerns the characters we saw at the end, then I’m totally on board as they were intriguing.
