I love the way Marina Vivancos writes.

It’s difficult to describe but there is very much an otherworldly nature to it, as if you’re peeking through a veil into another land.

With this Omegaverse romance she takes the Alpha/Omega trope and gives it a fantasy setting which an interesting mix of a feudal type of society but with advanced steampunk machinery and an element of bonded mates to tie it together.

There’s no mPreg in this one, but there are heats and in the North – the land where Milan goes to wed his Alpha Raphael in an arranged political alliance – those heats can be dangerous when past hurts are allowed to influence the present.

For a while I wasn’t sure where this narrative was going, were we going to get a Jekyll and Hyde scenario? Was Raphael under some kind of curse?

I won’t spoil what the outcome is but I will say I loved Milan, his heart was as open as his nature was kind and there’s a great set of secondary characters in this world where the Alphas aren’t always the top of the chain and omegas are valued for their skills and abilities.
