Montana #5 is my absolute favourite in the series
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
My favourite one yet in this excellent series. I just fell for Rob hook, line and sinker and was so glad Aaron wouldn’t let him wallow in his misery.
Together they were dynamite and the dynamic between them of two Alpha males not willing to stand down or give ground was hot as all Hell!
The premise of the narrative also worked really well for me, Rob needs somewhere safe to take the nephews he’s suddenly inherited guardianship of and the only place he can think of is Justin’s Crooked Tree Ranch.
There’s a bit of understandable fear on Justin’s part when his former assassin partner turns up with two young boys but I loved that they still had that connection and when Justin discovered why Rob was there, his support came easily.
Aaron’s a fabulous character too, he’s not easily cowed by Rob’s aura of danger and I absolutely loved the whole Army/Navy rivalry and ribbing the two men had going.
If this is the last in the Montana series, then I think RJ has done an incredible job in rounding out all the stories of the men connected to this wonderful ranch.
