What a finale! Gaia’s champions are racing against time to find Elizabeth and her sire Thrace and for one of the Theriomorphs, a surprise awaits.
When I realised just who was coming back from the dead I was overjoyed that Antonio would get his love story again and I wasn’t disappointed.
The pain and suffering he’d gone through when he believed Raphael dead were compounded when his lover returned but with no memory of their time together.
It broke my heart to see how affected Antonio was but I needn’t have worried. As the tensions rise and Thrace’s deadly plot is revealed, unlikely alliances are made and two men fall in love again.
The pacing was, as it has been throughout the series, perfectly judged to allow the quiet times between the plot narrative to really sink in.
There are some lovely moments with all the team involved as Raphael starts to teach Evan and Adam all his Dark Guardian tricks.
I’ve loved everything about this series, from the historical figures interspersed within, to the unique ideas for the shifters and vampires and to the romances between each of the three couples.
It’s been a delight to read them and personally I think they’d make a kick-ass TV series or film 🙂
