Brilliant start to this new series from Charlie Cochet

Love in Spades (Four Kings Security, #1)Love in Spades by Charlie Cochet

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have a confession to make. Although I own all the THIRDS series from Charlie Cochet, I’ve yet to read them. Yes, I know.

So this was my first experience of a full length read (I’ve read her novellas and the historical duo) with the hot alpha men and action adventure she’s so well known for.

As you can see by the rating, I loved it. Humour, action, strong willed men, ex-military, slow burn, UST, powerful emotions and a decent plot (although I did eyeball the probable ‘villain’ of the piece fairly early on, it never spoiled the tension).

Ace was just my kind of guy, attitude in abundance, confident with a touch of arrogance, sex on legs and a determination to be the best.

Colton was a perfect match, strong-willed and capable, responsible and kind, but with a core of steel that just set off all Ace’s triggers.

Together they were blazing passion and I loved that there was no wishy washy or mucking about with the whole attraction thing. When they decided it was worth breaking all the rules, they went in full tilt.

There was also good communication, both listening to the other even when hurting and willing to compromise.

The actual plot bit worked, it’s a stretch but not totally unbelievable, and sadly the kind of thing going on here does happen. Loved the setting, loved the characters and I can’t wait for more Kings.
