I know when I pick up an Ed Davies book I’m going to get a low angst, sweet romance between two normal guys who might have a bit of a rough path but who will eventually get their happy ending.
And that’s exactly what I got with Shelter, the first of the Hidden Creek series I’ve read, which focussed on two men who seemed to have their futures sorted, only to find life taking them in new directions.
Orion and Gabriel were super sweet together, Orion’s gradual awakening to the fact he’d always been flattered by Gabriel’s attention when they were younger and that he had more of a connection with him than the women he’d dated, was nicely done.
It didn’t feel out of place that he would realise he was bi and definitely attracted to Gabriel and I liked that they took their time with both experimenting and with their relationship.
Gramma was such a cool secondary character too and I was intrigued by the glimpses we got into the people who will be appearing in the other five Hidden Creek books.
