New author Deven Balsam hoping for new publishing successes

With a first published short story – Sindali – in the Brave Boy World anthology, club DJ, producer, author, event organiser and occasional crafter/upcycler of clothes and jewelry, Deven Balsam stepped foot onto the writing ladder.

A single dad of three, he lives on a mountain at the edge of the Pisgah National Forest and has also published Deadname and Bread, Milk and Seahorse Eggs for FTM Magazine, and published Horseweed, Honeysuckle for Issue 11 of the online collection Birds Piled Loosely.

In 2018 his story Snow will be published in Carnation Books’ anthology to benefit Trans Lifeline.

He is also in the process of completing work on the novel Mekanika, a continuation of the story begun in Sindali.
