More brilliance from Roe Horvat

Dirty MindDirty Mind by Roe Horvat

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I don’t know exactly what it is about the way Roe Horvat writes but whatever it is, it just connects with me.

I love the unashamedly European flavour of their work, the unabashed intelligence of their use of language, the unrepentant brilliance of their characters.

These are love stories, but there’s nothing conventional or formulaic about them. They skirt the boundaries of academia, they inform in a subtle manner all the ways being part of the LGBTQ+ community is different in Europe.

Their use of language is almost poetic, there is always great visual stimulus in their writing and they just make me happy with their stories.
